Submit RequestThis page clarifies the scope of our medication reminder service, what it covers, and the responsibilities of both the pharmacy and the platform. Please review these points before registering your pharmacy.
ContactRx provides SMS-based medication reminders, repeat dispensing cycle tracking, and compliance reporting for registered pharmacies. The platform integrates with common dispensing software used in South African community pharmacies.
Pharmacies are responsible for obtaining patient consent before enrolling them in reminder programs. Reminders are sent only for prescriptions where the patient has agreed to receive SMS notifications about refill schedules.
Patient information is processed in line with South African data protection regulations. Compliance reports shared with clinicians contain aggregated adherence data unless the pharmacy has explicit permission to share individual patient records.
The platform supports repeat dispensing cycles but does not replace clinical judgment. Pharmacists remain responsible for verifying prescriptions, checking interactions, and deciding whether a repeat is appropriate for each patient.
Default reminder schedules are set to align with typical refill intervals for chronic conditions. Pharmacies can adjust frequency per patient or per medication type through the dashboard to match individual care plans.
Registered pharmacies receive onboarding support and access to training materials for their staff. The platform team assists with initial setup, integration testing, and troubleshooting during business hours.
ContactRx is a coordination tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose conditions, adjust dosages, or replace professional healthcare advice. Clinical decisions remain with the prescribing clinician and the dispensing pharmacist.
